I am originally from Decatur Illinois where I graduated from Millikin University and majored in Biology. I completed a MS in Zoology from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and a PhD in Biology from Montana State University. Following my PhD, I worked as a postdoctoral researcher/fish biologist with the U.S. Geological Survey in Flagstaff, Arizona.
